SKINCARE 101: the ultimate morning routine

To quote Beyoncé, “Wake up, flawless”. Sadly, it’s not *quite* that easy, but with the right skincare routine, you’ll be well on your way! Try this morning routine, for beautifully cleansed, makeup ready skin:

1. Cleanse: The most vital step in your routine. Cleansing removes sebum, dead skin cells, freshens and stimulates skin for the day ahead. Invest in this first step, just because you wash it off, doesn’t mean it’s any less important. The right cleanser can calm, hydrate and even revitalise skin. Choose an oil, gel, cream or balm to suit your skin type. Cleansing also helps to prime skin for other skincare products which will absorb more quickly and work more effectively on warm, energised skin. You’ll need less of each product - so it saves you money too!

2. Condition: Post cleansing, your toner will remove any residual oils, pollution or impurities, whilst providing the first layer of hydration and the perfect base for your serum & moisturiser. We love Antonia Burrell’s Forest Dew Skin Conditioner, also know as botox in a bottle, for gorgeous, plump skin every day! Tip – on a weekend morning, pat 20 pumps of Forest Dew into your skin and leave to soak in for a few seconds. If it absorbs quickly, repeat the process and your skin will feel the benefits of this ultra-hydration boost all week long!

3. Serum: Designed to deliver targeted results, serums are usually water based and contain a high concentration of potent, active ingredients. Whether you’re looking to plump, reduce fine lines, clarify or soothe, a serum can be the skincare boon to supercharge your daily regime. Layer your serums to address specific concerns.

4. Moisturise: Your moisturiser is to skincare what your coat is to your clothing, an outer layer to nourish and protect skin from the elements. A moisturiser restores skin’s elasticity and moisture levels whilst also protecting skin against environmental pollutants and premature ageing. Dry skin? 5. Eye Care: The skin around your eyes is a tenth of the thickness of that on your face. Therefore it’s vital to treat this delicate area differently. Regular face creams can be too heavy and can cause puffiness. Cool, tone and brighten under eye circles with a lightweight eye treatment after moisturising.

Exfoliate: Use an exfoliator 2-3 times a week to buff off dead skin cells, promote skin cell renewal, soften, purify and brighten skin.
